Paws Academy Dog Boarding Policies: What You Need to Know
We are committed to providing the highest standard of care for your beloved pets during their stay. Please read through the following policies carefully to ensure a smooth and safe experience for all our guests.
Boarding Size Restrictions
Small to Medium-Sized Dogs: Boarding for small and medium dogs.
Large-Sized Dogs: We only accept large dogs (such as Golden Retrievers, Standard Poodles, and Groodles) if they have been with us in day care and grooming since they were puppies and we know them well.
This ensures familiarity and a safe, comfortable environment for all dogs in our care.
Vaccination Requirements

To protect the health and safety of all fur children in our care, we require that all dogs be up to date with the following vaccinations:
C5 Vaccine (Core Vaccines): 🐾
- DHPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvovirus, Parainfluenza): This combination vaccine protects against several life-threatening diseases that are highly contagious.
- Bordetella (Kennel Cough): This is crucial for boarding as kennel cough can spread easily in facilities where dogs interact closely.
Important Note: Vaccinations should be updated at least 7 days before the boarding date to ensure your dog’s immunity is fully active. We reserve the right to deny boarding to any dog without the necessary vaccinations.
Medical Information & Special Needs
We provide a personalized care experience for each dog. To ensure we meet all of your dog’s specific needs, please supply the following details when booking:
- Medications: Clearly label all medications, including dosage and timing instructions.
- Dietary Requirements: Whether your dog is on a special diet or has allergies, please inform us ahead of time. If you are providing your own food, please package meals separately for each day.
- Allergies & Sensitivities: If your dog has any known allergies or sensitivities, please let us know so we can tailor our care appropriately.
Disclosure Requirement: If any medical conditions or health issues are not disclosed prior to boarding, we will not assume responsibility for veterinary bills incurred as a result. It is essential to provide all relevant information to ensure the best possible care for your dog.
Health & Safety
While we prioritize the safety and well-being of all our furry guests, accidents can sometimes happen during play or interaction with other dogs. Here’s how we handle health and safety concerns:
- Injury & Illness: Should your dog become ill or injured during their stay, we will promptly notify you and take your dog to a vet if necessary. We will cover any costs incurred due to accidents directly related to our care.
- Pre-existing Conditions: Any health issues that arise from pre-existing conditions will be treated as needed, but all costs will be the responsibility of the owner.
- Behavioural Issues: If your dog displays aggressive behaviour or causes harm to others, we will contact you immediately. We reserve the right to refuse boarding to dogs with aggressive tendencies for the safety of all guests.
